This elegant three-story home on a gracious, tree-lined street completed in 2015 exudes Southern Charm. The owner, Jason Jones, is an interior designer. He drew up the house plans from scratch, pulling details from his travels – especially his trips to Natchez and plantations surrounding New Orleans – and incorporating elements commonly used in southern plantation houses blending French Creole and Greek Revival.
In every case possible, Jason utilized salvage architectural elements and lighting from the mid-1800s to give the house a real sense of evolution. The interiors are timeless and exciting and, most of all, reflect the owner’s sense of style.
One of Jason’s favorite things is incorporating live elements into the decorations, keeping things bold yet simple.
This showstopper has been on the tour of homes several times. While all who have visited the home believed it was finished, Jason knew it would always be a work in progress. He has completed the main floor and moved sleeping quarters to the lower level adding the laundry, a kitchenette, and an office. The third floor now consists of guest suites. While the distinctive architecture will be familiar, the interior’s furnishings, draperies, art, and décor will be a revelation.
