408 Griffith Ave
Current Owners: Ken and Lili Lane
(7 owners since 1949)
This classic traditional home was built in 1949 and sits on a half-acre lot. The house underwent a significant renovation in 2011 and has been completely restored to its full character and charm. First impressions are dramatic. When entering the foyer, you will see the beautiful chevron-patterned wood floors that flow from the double entry front doors through the ornately columned archway to the lovely patio at the rear of the house.
The Lane’s 3315 square-foot home has 4 bedrooms, 3 ½ bathrooms and a gourmet kitchen. The built-in banquette near the kitchen is a perfect place for game night or a chilled glass of tea, and is a gathering place for friends and family. It can probably seat an entire soccer team! The living room has a gorgeous coffered ceiling, with another inviting fireside spot at one end. Bonus space includes a home office retreat, which is upstairs above Ken’s “Man Cave” garage.
There are two master bedrooms downstairs, one with its own fireplace. This home is filled with an art collection that spans the globe. Lili’s eye for style and beauty is reflected in the eclectic works hanging in every room, including the “Velvet Elvis” sharing wall space with family photos in the guest bathroom! With one of her favorite artists (and a close family friend) still living in Brazil, Lili is sure to bring home another special piece each time she visits her mother there. Ken loves to surprise her with artwork he finds on his international travels as well. Their love of art evidently started at a young age, as Ken’s family tradition has been to hand paint a miniature Christmas house every year. Be sure to see his handiwork with their colorful Christmas home collection. Every model is unique!
Ken and Lili each have their favorite spot in the home. Lili LOVES her upstairs walk-in closet filled with a very well-organized display of clothes, shoes, purses and hats. It is truly a woman’s paradise. Ken prefers the delightful back yard with its cozy fire pit and stone patio areas, along with the nicely shaded porch area. An additional treat for them both is the chance to enjoy the natural beauty of the park-like acreage behind their house that belongs to their next door neighbor. It is a natural habitat kept lush and green.
Ken and Lili moved to Terrell in 2017, after Ken saw this home for sale during his one of his business trips in town. Lili fell in love with it as soon as she walked through the front door. Since moving here, the Lanes have become very active in their church, serving as pastors for the Prime Time group of seniors. One of their favorite Christmas passages is Galatians 4:4-5.
Overall, this warm and welcoming home feels like a great place to celebrate the Season! The Lanes wish everyone a Merry Christmas to All and thank you for sharing time here today.
